Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the DoomOff iOS app and its Safari extension, operated by Decy Technologies Inc. ("Decy," "we," "us"). Installing or using DoomOff means you accept them.

What DoomOff is

DoomOff is a Safari Web Extension that modifies how certain websites appear in your own browser, on your own device. It hides elements you have chosen to hide and, where you ask for it, navigates to a chronological view that the site itself provides.

DoomOff is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Reddit, X, LinkedIn, or their parent companies. All trademarks belong to their respective owners, and are used here only to describe which sites the extension works on.

Intellectual property

The DoomOff app, extension, name, logo, and the text, images, and code that make up the site you're reading this on belong to Decy Technologies Inc. You can use the app as described in these terms. Reproducing, distributing, or building derivative works from any of it requires our written permission.

Subscription and billing

• DoomOff is a paid subscription after a one-week free trial, priced through the App Store for your country.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. We never handle or see your payment details.
• The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel at any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; the current period runs to its end.
• If you cancel during the free trial, you are not charged. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription during it.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.

Things that are outside our control

DoomOff works by recognizing the structure of other companies' websites. Those sites change their markup regularly and without notice, which can temporarily break a toggle until DoomOff is updated to match. We fix these as they come up, but we cannot promise that any specific feature will keep working on any specific site indefinitely.

Similarly, a site may remove a chronological view that DoomOff currently relies on. If that happens, the corresponding toggle stops being able to do what it says.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the app or extension.
• Use DoomOff to circumvent paywalls, authentication, or access controls.
• Represent DoomOff as your own product or as affiliated with any platform it modifies.

No warranty

DoomOff is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. It is a tool for reducing distraction, not a medical or therapeutic product, and it makes no claim to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. If you have a pre-existing condition or any concern about screen use and your health, talk to a physician rather than relying on the app.

Apple App Store

DoomOff is distributed through the Apple App Store. Decy Technologies Inc. alone is responsible for the app and its content, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for DoomOff. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and, upon your acceptance, has the right to enforce them against you.

Subject to your compliance with these terms, you get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use DoomOff on Apple-branded devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, as permitted by the App Store's usage rules.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Decy Technologies Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, DoomOff. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in the three months before the claim arose.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Decy Technologies Inc. and its officers from any claim or damages, including reasonable legal fees, arising from your use of DoomOff or your violation of these terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Alberta, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where you are a consumer in a jurisdiction whose consumer protection law would otherwise apply, that law applies to the extent it can't be waived.

Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of DoomOff will be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis, rather than in court, except where arbitration is prohibited by law. This waives your right to a jury trial and to participate in a class action. You or we may still bring an individual claim in small claims court, and we may seek injunctive relief in court to protect our intellectual property.

Sanctions compliance

By using DoomOff, you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a Canadian or applicable trade embargo, and that you are not on any list of prohibited or restricted parties.

Severability

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, that part is removed and the rest continues to apply.

Changes

These terms may be updated. Material changes will be reflected in the date above. Continuing to use DoomOff after a change means accepting the revised terms.
